Arabian Nights Dinner Show

Arabian Nights OrlandoWe (my family of 3 kids and my wife) love Arabian Nights... it's not as interactive as Pirates but the show has many elements ranging from dramatic inspiring scenes to a drunk horse. We have been to this Kissimmee dinner show 3 times and it was great each time. BTW, gate price for this attraction is $50 but we sell them (look at the top for our ticket link) for about half that! The pre show is also pretty good with acrobats and a full service bar (a little pricey on the drinks but eh, they all are!). The food is typical banquet style and okay... my wife says the prime rib is excellent but I prefer the chicken. Hey for $28 (our price... again see the link up top) you can't complain.

My opinion above has changed drastically, please read on:

So if you are reading this you are probably thinking about visiting Arabian Nights in Kissimmee Florida. Well, I used to love this show for many reasons but sadly the show has been apparently retooled for the worse. I do not know if the show was bought out or just cheapened on purpose but either way don't waste your time or money. I used to think that Dixie Stampede was to expensive for what they offered because for a lot less you could get almost the same quality of show, service and food from Arabian Nights without spending very much.

I will attempt to explain what I dislike about this NEW show (as of 02/2007).

1) The pre show used to be some really cool acts that were tied into the main show very nicely. The pre show is now a Magic Show which is actually pretty good but has nothing to do with main show. Okay, not that big of deal but worth mentioning.

2) The show itself used to have several acts that are now gone like a really funny drunken horse / cowboy skit but is sadly gone which they tried to reproduce in the new first act but it doesn't have nearly the same comedy or laughs.

3) Where did all the horse go? The old show had a really wild opening where they dropped the arena lights and literally flooded the arena with horses. There was a big wow factor there and that is now also gone. I counted a total of 12 horses in the new show and 1 goat.

4) Where did the talent go? The old show had some really amazing riders that performed all sorts of dazzlingly and choreographed moves and riding. The new show has very little in the WOW department. For example, there is a scene where the rider and her horse are supposed to become "very connected" but the problem is that all the rider does is ride back forth for what seemed like 10 minutes. Booooorrrrrrinnnnnnnnnngggggg!

5) What happened to the food? I used to think the menu and food itself were really good for a dinner. The menu now consists of Vegetable Lasagna, Chicken Breast, Chicken Tenders, New York Strip and Chop Steak. I'll admit it sounds good on paper until the food comes out. Tiny portions even for me and I can barely eat (no really, I usually gets kids portions), the food itself came out almost on the cold side which scared me and taste was not even a factor because I think it was card board. See below for actual pictures of our meal!

I can however say they made at least one change for the better. They did move the bar out of the middle of the pre show and they also renovated the pre-show bathrooms.

I'm truly sadden by how this show was flushed down the toilet and ruined by trying to squeeze more profit out of it. We truly loved this show and took anyone that visited us here in Clermont as an example of good entertainment in Kissimmee but that won't be happing anymore!

To summarize, spend your money elsewhere!
