Lake Buena Vista Clarion

(1 vote, average 5.00 out of 5)

Disney World ClarionValue, location, transportation and clean is how I would describe the Lake Buena Vista Comfort Inn which is soon to become the Lake Buena Vista Clarion. This resort offers clean rooms at a bargain and for most Orlando visitors a room is just a place to sleep. The resort does have the features you expect such as 2 pools, a kids splash zone, a lounge, gift shop, market place, arcade and a restaurant.

For around $50 per night you get a clean room with either a king bed or two doubles, mini fridge with enough space for a few drinks, a micro wave oven, 32 inch TV with on screen entertainment and various other room amenities. This resort is also one of very few in the area that is small pet friendly with a small fee.

The restaurant, Boardwalk Buffet Restaurant, offers breakfast and dinner buffets at a reasonable price with kids eating for free (1 child is free for each paid adult). The lounge is friendly with average priced drinks. The arcade features a pool table and air hockey table among other games. The market place / gift shop is well stocked with groceries and various other things that you might need while on vacation.

Regular transportation to all the major theme parks (not just Disney World) is provided so you will want to get that schedule before planning your day. Click here for the schedules.

WiFi is offered all over the resort for free and it even worked in our room, however the wired connection in each room is pay per use.

Overall, this is excellent choice of resorts for the value minded plus it is conveniently located near Disney World and is very clean. Most of the "cheap" (I'm not using the term in derogatory sense) are usually far below my standards for cleanness and presentation but I was very pleased with almost everything they had to offer. I say almost because I did have a few minor gripes.

1. I had to visit a few different ice machines before I found one that was working. Now, this could be the result of other guests filling coolers or something along those lines. I did find ice but it was frustrating at the time. Each ice location did have two machines.

2. Some of the staff were very friendly and bright and some were merely going through the motions and had that uncomfortable "I'm being polite because I have to be" feeling. Most everyone however was very pleasant. Honestly though I've been treated far worst at other budget resorts and it's apparent this resort is making an effort.

3. This is a common complaint for me and almost every hotel does it but the input jacks on the TV are disabled which is were I like to connect my computer to show the family pictures for the day or stream NetFlix. They do this because they have there own on screen entertainment and while I understand the practice I don't necessarily agree with it.

For less than $50 a night these complaints are moot to me! Be sure to check out the latest offer here: http://www.comfortinnorlando.com/splash
